Peace and Welcome
This is my ‘plugged-in’ living space…
I have a M.A. in Public Anthropology from American University in Washington D.C., following a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia. My research interests are identity, indigeneity, material culture, cultural preservation/sustainability and political economy. Most particularly my inquiry is on the ‘Reconocimiento’ struggles of the Afro-Mexican community of Costa Chica in the realization of their full social and political rights as birthright citizens in the state of Mexico.
My latest research, “Agua Escondido: Sense of Space, Climate Change, and Migration in Costa Chica, Mexico”.
Most recent Projects:
Creator/Curator of Afro-Mexican Art Exhibition @ La Zona Art Gallery, San Antonio, Texas: “La Isla Bajo El Mar: Afro-Mexican Identity Through the Arts and Activism in Costa Chica, Mexico” September 2025

“My activism - cultural, political, spiritual - is rooted in my love of nature and my delight in human beings.... For we can do nothing substantial toward changing our course on the planet..... without rousing ourselves, individual by individual, and bringing our small, imperfect stones to the pile.
In this regard, I have a story to tell.”
